My creative approach:
I have always been inspired by visual expression as a form of communication. The power that images and design can have on the decisions we make every day is fascinating. I approach each project by focusing on the needs of the end user and work to determine the best experience using classic design principles, user research and iterating on each solution. I always strive to broaden my skills and improve my creative approach.
I received a dual emphasis BFA in Graphic Design and Illustration from Missouri State University in 2008. After interning for the MSU Performing Arts Center and Zipatoni Ad Agency (now Rivet Global) in St. Louis, MO I got a job at the Springfield News Leader as a Design Team Lead where I worked for the next two years. In 2010 I made the move to Nobal Advertising agency where I worked as a graphic designer until moving to Boston, MA in 2011 to work as a web designer on a presidential campaign.
After a year in Boston I moved to Austin to rejoin the private sector and enjoy some warmer weather! I got a job at Volusion as a Visual Designer on the Digital Experience team. After the First year I was promoted to Sr. Visual designer and then earlier this year to Design Manager of the Digital Experience design team.
